EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR ROOF WITH GREYLOCK ROOFING COMPANY

The best way to extend the life of your roof is with a comprehensive roof maintenance plan. A well-maintained roof can significantly extend its service life, helping building owners and property managers reduce unexpected repair costs and preserve capital for other business or property needs.
Most roofing manufacturers require at least one documented roof inspection annually to maintain warranty coverage. Be sure to consult your roofing manufacturer for specific warranty requirements. Call Greylock to set up your roof maintenance program today.

When to Schedule Roof Maintenance and What to Expect:

Commercial roofs should be inspected at least twice per year, typically in the spring and fall. Additional attention may be needed during the winter, especially when snow on the roof exceeds 18 inches and roof drains need to be cleared. Snow should be removed from around the drains using a plastic-tip or all-plastic shovel to ensure proper drainage and prevent roof damage.

Greylock Roofing Company will create the periodic maintenance log required by the manufacturer that issued your warranty. Each maintenance plan helps our customers make informed roof repair and maintenance decisions that can extend the life of their roof and provide years of reliable, leak-free protection.

Best Practices for Roof Maintenance:

  • Inspect the roof twice per year, with additional inspections if trees overhang the roof
  • Keep the roof clean and free of debris
  • Keep the drainage system clear and functional
  • Check pitch pockets and top off as needed
  • Inspect flashings and repair corners as needed
  • Check the roof membrane for damage, punctures, or holes, especially around HVAC equipment
  • Inspect all sheet metal flashings
  • Check all caulking and replace as needed
  • Install walkway pads around rooftop HVAC equipment
  • Limit roof access to authorized personnel only
  • Prohibit smoking on the roof
